Position-One Motorsports Podium FInish Update PDF Print E-mail

Randel King had a good outing last Saturday night driving the Position-One Motorsports, King Taco Restaurants # 30 Chevy Monte Carlo.  Starting on the front row, Randel drove a steady race. He survived a late race shootout between the top 5 positions and was actually running 2nd before being edged out by Ryan Reed as the two waged a fierce battle heading to the checkered. Randel ended up finishing in the 3rd place position.

After the fifth race of the year Randel is tied for third place in the Pepsi Super Late Model championship points chase, a mere 10 points out of first. With fifteen races left on the schedule, don’t count this young talent out.

In the Langer’s S2 Series, the #03 Position-One entry was driven by Bobby Kelly.  Bobby qualified the car in 5th and drove it to a 2nd place finish.

Bobby is an accomplished Position-One Motorsports karting team driver that has brought them over 30 karting victories since 2009. This was his second start in the S2 and it netted him a great finish. Stepping up from karting into the S2 proves that this is the obvious “next step” for serious young racers anywhere.

ABOUT POSITION-ONE:

A proven championship team in the Karting community, In 2008, Position One Motorsports did a 180° and entered the Whelen All American NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at Southern California’s Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, with Luis Martinez Jr. driving the #03 KING TACO powered Chevrolet.  The result at the end of the season was a very respectable ninth place in the Championship standings out of 60 competitors.  Martinez also entered a couple races in the NASCAR Camping World West Series, which expanded his stock car resume.

In 2009Position One Motorsports continued competing in the Whelen All American NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. Also driving for Position-One Motorsports was Mackena Bell, in the #30 Drive for Diversity NGK Chevy Super Late Model.  Both Martinez and Bell finished the season strong with one win and a few podiums between both drivers.
