If 2009 was anything to go off, Position One Motorsports will once again be a formidable team as the 2010 kart racing season is set to get underway.  Renown hot shoe and team standout Bobby Kelley will lead the charge as the Baldwin Park, California based team will look to repeat the successes of the year prior.  Accompanying Kelley will be Devin Lindsey, Race Liberante and Airel Jimenez.

The team will focus their efforts on a larger scale for 2010, with an emphasis on the burgeoning national karting program. Kelley and the rest of the Position One team will venture across the country to contest tin some of this year’s inaugural CKI National Championship and the revamped SKUSA ProTour. The team has also pledged a commitment to the Rotax program, with their sites set on this new challenge for the team.

Position One will have the popular Avanti chassis as well as offerings from Maddox underneath their stable of drivers, and their engines will be tuned by P1 Engines and karting veteran Jesus Vasquez.  Last year the combination of two amassed an impressive collection of regional and national wins. 

“I’m quite excited about this coming year,” remarked team principal Luis Martinez. “We have a much bigger stage from which to perform with the national program this year. I’m confident our drivers and equipment will rise to the occasion.”

With the national season poised to kick off in the next few weeks, the team has been preparing for the grueling schedule by competing in local regional events. With many Position One drivers landing on the top step of the podium, the team is enthusiastic and optimistic about the months ahead.
